The progress on the Trinity River Corridor Project continues in all five of the major components. Under the Trinity Watershed Management department, this project continues to display the tremendous opportunity, revitalization and education outreach that is taking place throughout the 20 mile stretch of the project. The Dallas river corridor remains one of the biggest challenges but yet the biggest opportunity for all of Dallas. Here is a quick overview of what is complete, under construction and in the design stage.

Wetlands - moving plants on the shoreline

Volunteers from the FedEx Office carry aquatic plants that will be positioned around Wetland Cell E at the Lower Chain of Wetlands. This functioning chain of wetlands helps reduce upstream flooding by as much as one foot during heavy rain events. (Photo Courtesy of Harry Rumberger)
